L’écrivain Jean Weso a posé ses valises dans le village – article dans Midi Libre

A writer with an international career has settled in Cessenon and enriches the local cultural life: Jean Weso moved to the village in 2023 with his wife, he divides his days between reading, cycling, pétanque… and writing. His latest novel, Dancing with Demons (Jaws Média), published in 2024, was translated into French (Danse avec les Demons) by FrançoiseCalas.
Inspired by a true story, the book follows Jack, a renowned journalist. He has everything going for him: a job at a major daily newspaper, a house in an upscale neighborhood, the love of his young wife, and the admiration of his son. But an addiction to alcohol and drugs threatens to turn everything upside down. Born in Denmark, Jean Weso—the pen name of Jens Sorensen—grew up between Copenhagen and Paris. After attending a British school, English became his second language, the language of his novels. He worked as an editor, journalist, and foreign correspondent (Copenhagen, London, Amsterdam) before publishing several books. “Writing is a necessity,” says the author. “I always have lots of ideas in my head.”
In 2018, he launched Le sniper d’Amsterdam (The Amsterdam Sniper), the first part of the Amsterdam trilogy, followed by L’étrangleur d’Amsterdam (The Amsterdam Strangler) and Le harceleur d’Amsterdam (The Amsterdam Stalker). They feature Inspector Rinus Rompa, a talented but fragile investigator. The trilogy will be published in French before the summer. His books are available in bookstores in the Hérault region and online, notably on Amazon.
